Utah Helicopter Flight Academy’s newest location is at the new Saint George Airport and offers state of the art facilities in a professional aviation environment that helps our helicopter students excel.  Students will learn to fly Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters in varied and spectacular airspace. Saint George has the lowest elevation in the state of Utah.  Most of the city is below 3000 feet and the mild winter weather is ideal for helicopter flight training with virtually no snow.

Better known as Utah’s Dixie, the city of Saint George is known for its breathtaking mountains and exquisite red sandstone buttes. Surrounded on the north by the Pine Valley Mountains and on the east with the majestic natural land formations of Zion’s National Park, it definitely lives up to its hype.  Pilots can glance to the south and see the northeastern portion of the Mojave Desert. Turning this desert into an oasis of life is the Santa Clara River merging into the Virgin River which cuts right through the center of the city. Both pine and palm trees add variance to this lush, warm and fertile landscape. With so many National Parks, Lake Powell as well as Interstate-15 running directly through the city, it is no wonder that a large portion of the economy in Saint George comes from tourism.  Right from the start, Utah Helicopter pilots get the experience of being in a market of heavy tourism and learn the skills necessary to achieve success in the helicopter industry.

If flying helicopters isn’t the only adventure you crave, the Saint George area offers hiking, biking, backpacking, rock climbing, water skiing, snow skiing  and more! Students can take a short drive to ski the snowy slopes of Brian Head Ski Resort, swing over to Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon National Park, and then head south to have fun in the sun on the famous Las Vegas Strip.

If helicopter pilots prefer a more relaxed way of life, Saint George is the place for you! It boasts of some of the most elegant golf courses in Utah and offers year-round golfing.  When you aren’t flying helicopters or golfing, check out the local Tuacahn Theatre which offers spectacular broadway productions and performances. In less than an hour drive you can also enjoy Southern Utah University’s world famous Shakespearean Festival. Saint George is the perfect place to fly helicopters and now you can fly with Utah Helicopter Flight Academy.

What a rush it is to go out for your first time! The best part is that most seasoned helicopter pilots would say that they still ‘feel the rush’ each time they fly.  Rather than just manage the linear motion of an airplane, you literally fly a helicopter. You learn to be in constant control of opposing forces while you're aloft and, essentially, master how to be "on the ball." A great way to experience this rush hands-on is to schedule a Discovery Flight at one of our locations. By doing so, you'll also have an opportunity to visit our flight school, meet our phenomenal staff and get familiarized with our training style. For most people, this hands-on helicopter flight is an experience they never forget--one that solidifies their vision to become a helicopter pilot.

After visiting us it will be clear that the ongoing objective at Utah Helicopter is to create an ideal flight training environment for helicopter students. From experience, we realize that it's the special attention to crucial key factors that differentiate the few great schools from the adequate ones. Come check us out in Saint George, Utah and learn to fly helicopters with the best! You will experience an epic adventure of a lifetime!
